It was 6:00PM (EAT) in the Dew Radio studios when the Servant of God, Abraham Richard, clothed in the garment of revelation, delivered a powerful meditation on visions and dreams. Reflection: The Purpose of Visions & Dreams:
Today we shall draw more insight on visions and dreams. One may ask, what is the purpose of dreams in a believer’s life? Or why does God give dreams, visions and prophecy to believers? And lastly one may ask, why is the gift of prophecy at work in our lives or in the church?
Visions and dreams or prophecies are set by God and they are for His will. The Word of God says; my people perish because of lack of knowledge and understanding. Yet, where there is knowledge there is revelation, and where there is revelation, there is understanding.
Whenever the Church receives revelation, it moves in the direction of God. That is why there is, and will always be visions, revelations and prophecies among us. You will come to realise that every one has ever received an encounter with the Spirit of God. This is something you did not call for but it came your way.
This means, inherently, the Church will always need Prophets and prophetesses to help us to interpret dreams, visions and prophecies. When we are equipped with this knowledge, you will know the right way to live. Most of us, the Spirit God has ever come to guide you in a dream or prophecy but you neglected Him with the message.
Understanding the Assignment:
God Almighty does not want us to perish but to move in His way especially when it comes to us who know Jesus Christ of Nazareth. When you examine the book of Colossians chapter 3 verse 1: If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above. The Word of God is breaking it down for us that when we hear about Jesus, seek and take Him in your heart,we will be resurrected.
This scripture puts a body onto my message: You are a new creation; however, the important question is; how can you live as a new creation? By following the footsteps of Christ Jesus. The next question becomes: How do I follow the footsteps of Christ Jesus? Following the vision or dream He has revealed to you. Other than that, you are going to lose the newness, sight and Heavenly realities because you are not following the vision.
Whenever people yearn for God, they make the right prayer. For God loves those who ask for guidance and direction as it is encrypted in the book of Proverbs chapter 16 verse 3, Jeremiah chapter 33 verse 3 and Matthew chapter 7 verse 7. No one knows your destiny apart from your creator Christ Jesus [Psalm 139]. Above all believers, we need to treasure visions and dreams because they guide our way on how to live.
Meditation Point: Men and women who move by vision, are not diverted:
It is hard to guide a man who has a vision on how to live his life because He already has direction concerning his life. Jesus makes it clear that He is the way, truth and life; meaning whenever He speaks to you God has given you direction. Choose to persist on that vision and do not allow to be diverted because visionary people do not allow people to mislead them.
They look deep in the vision and follow it, choosing not to consider any situations around because they believe God is not a son of man to lie. The true men and women of God we want emulate today in the scriptures stood true to their visions.
If we want to see the Word of God perfected in our lives as it is written the Bible, we need to remain true. Hebrews chapter 11, talks about men of faith who changed the world, gave life to the dead, stayed true to their vision and made history. My life is also an example, if I had drifted away, the prophecies and revelations I gave would not have happened.
But because I stuck to the visions and dreams, I got, they are perfected. Believers I re-echo, we are protected from temptation to sin when we stick to the visions and dreams, we got from Christ Jesus. The moment you lose the vision, dream or Word of God, you lose the way.
Our Master Christ Jesus Walked by Vision:
Look at our Master Christ Jesus, He walked by vision, when His disciples greatly discouraged Him to go to Jerusalem, He resisted those who wanted to fail his vision. He pursued it because the vision began and had to end in Jerusalem [Luke 9:51]. When you follow your vision and dream from the LORD, you share in God’s plan [Amos 3:7].
A vision will make you unique, if you pursue it; you shall change the world. Your vision is your treasure, not the car, children or anything you are physically looking for.
The book of Revelations chapter 14 verse 13 encourages us not to waste our time on earthly things, because they will fail us to go to heaven. Give your whole to Jesus, let Him be your primary goal you will never be disappointed.
A Word of Correction & Encouragement:
Truth be told, you have not given your whole to the visions God gave you, you are compromising and this is not the right thing to be done. That vision is your life, if you do not acquire it, you will never see what God wanted you to see [Luke chapter 18verse 18-25].
If you have never scarified enough, you can never see your vision. Our fore father Abraham would not become a father of all nations if he had not sacrificed his all dignity, years, beloved son to mention but a few.
Do not think he never loved his son, but the vision was more interesting than the son. Meaning your vision has to bigger than anything in this world. So whatever way the devil made you forget your vision or weakened you arise and speak back to him. Thank you for being part of Sunday Evening Meditation. Keep walking in your God given vision.
