Graced in the Spirit of God, Prophet Abraham Richard took his position to share with the believers what the LORD had placed in his place. His first remarks were, “Let us prepare to receive what the LORD has prepared for us today.” With a message titled, Be Hungry for God, he taught:
As a Christian, it is paramount to understand that the way we receive differs totally from the way the world receives. Remember, receiving with the heart is seeing. The world acknowledges that has received when they touch something physically, whereas Christians receive by faith.
This is what Christ Jesus said to His disciples in the book of John chapter 14 verse 17 that my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Believer, are you ready to receive to see a new day the LORD has prepared?
That is why when we come to Christ Jesus, we come with our empty cups ready to receive. That is the heart. If your heart is not empty and hungry to receive, then there is no way you can receive. Remember, if you come to receive from God when your cup [heart] is not empty, hungry and thirsty, then you cannot receive.
That is why many come in the presence of God and go back the same way, because they are not ready to receive. Every day we should be hungry and thirsty to receive a new thing from the LORD. I want to emphasise that the way we receive as children of God differs completely from the way the world receives.
If someone in the world is giving you money, you acknowledge that you have money after seeing it physically. Then you boldly confess that you have money. However, children of God are completely different. We believe we have money when our hearts convince us, we are rich because we have received from God [2Corinthians 5:7].
This is a revelation that we need to understand. As you read this message, I pose a question to you, how hungry and thirsty are you to receive from God? Yes, you are reading this message in the LORD’S name but the way you are going to receive has to be by heart. How hungry, thirsty, and empty you are!
You are the vessel, therefore when you come to the LORD’S presence, you must be extremely hungry and empty and the LORD will fill you up. Our Father in the LORD David says, when shall we go to the house of the LORD to hear from God? It means he was hungry.
Let us go in the Word of God, Psalm 42: As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before Him? Day and night I have tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me saying, “Where is this God of yours?”
According to this scripture, the psalmist longs for the LORD and his desire for God grows when people taunt him. Look at the situations going on in your life (good or bad). They must increase your desire for God. They have to make you hungrier and thirstier for God and His presence.
Let us look in the book of Isaiah 55:1-3: Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink-even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine and milk, it’s all free. Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good.
When you come down to verse 3: Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen and you will find life. It reveals you that you should listen to God with your heart because the way you receive differs completely from the way the world receives.
The voice of God is saying listen to Him attentively because you receive within first. The level of your hunger will determine the joy in your heart when you are coming to God’s presence. Besides that, never forget that a man who is hungry is in no position to command. They will abide by every rule they find at the place of worship.
Why, you may ask yourself. The reason is that every instruction you receive is leading you to satisfaction. Just like the Canaanite woman in Matthew chapter 15 verse 21-28, you will not be discouraged but will persist until you receive from Christ Jesus.
Summing up the message, Prophet Abraham Richard re-echoed: Are you hungry? The Word of God has told us to come to Christ Jesus in Isaiah chapter 55. Step in faith because wherever you are reading this message from, you are facing the Prayer Mountain [2Chronicles 6:34].
Right now, begin to make a prayer in faith requesting for what you need from the LORD.
Shalom.
