Good morning beloved child of God, you are welcome to the Children’s section of our website. Today, we shall learn about an Apostle called Paul formerly known as Saul. Have your book, pen and Bible to note something as we revise in the course of the week.

SAUL’S EARLY LIFE:
In the times when Jesus was preaching the good news of the LORD, many people turned from their evil ways and followed Him, becoming His devoted disciples. After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension to heaven, His disciples continued His mission, going on to preach the good news of salvation and forgiveness to all who would listen.

However, as they did, they faced intense persecution and suffering, with some even losing their lives for their faith. A notable example is Stephen, one of Jesus’ early followers, who was stoned to death for his firm commitment to spreading the message of Jesus Christ (Acts 7:54-60).

There was a man named Saul, a zealous Pharisee, who strongly opposed the teachings of Jesus Christ and did not believe in Him as the Messiah. In fact, he was actively hurting and persecuting people who did believe in Jesus, seeking to silence them and destroy their faith.

One day, while Saul was traveling to Damascus on a mission to arrest and imprison Christians, a blindingly bright light from heaven suddenly shone around him. The light was so intense that he fell to the ground, humbled and helpless. Then, he heard a voice saying, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” (Acts of Apostles chapter 9)
Saul inquired, “Who are you, Lord?” The voice responded, “I am Jesus, whom you are
persecuting.” This divine encounter transformed Saul’s life forever.

The intense light left him blind, and he was led into Damascus by his companions.
For three days, Saul fasted and prayed, abstaining from food and drink. Ananias, a devout disciple, visited Saul, prayed for him, and restored his sight through prayer. Subsequently, Saul was baptized, embracing his newfound faith as a follower of Jesus.

THE TRANSFORMATION OF SAUL TO PAUL:
Following his encounter with Jesus, Saul’s life shifted ,He began to preach about Christ Jesus, spreading the message of God’s Love to all who would listen. Notably, Saul’s name took on the name Paul, symbolizing his humility and commitment to serving others.

KEY LESSONS FROM PAUL:

1. God Can Change Anyone’s Heart

Paul’s transformation is a powerful example of God’s redemptive power. Despite his past mistakes and wrongdoings, God chose to redeem him and change his heart. This shows that:

– No one is beyond redemption.

– God’s power can transform anyone, regardless of their past.

– When God chooses to work in someone’s life, nothing can stop Him.

2. Forgiveness and Redemption

Paul’s story also highlights the importance of forgiveness and redemption. When Saul was baptized, it symbolized God’s forgiveness and cleansing of his sins. This teaches us that:

– God is forgiving and caring.

– When we humble ourselves and ask for His Mercy, He forgives us.

– Just like Saul, we can be forgiven and transformed by God’s power.

This story teaches us to reflect on our own lives and recognize that God can change us, just like He changed Saul. Whether it is a bad habit, poor performance, or negative thoughts, God’s power can transform us and make us new.
