SEM HEADER

The set watchman for the Church of Christ, Seer Abraham Richard, shared a profound message with the listening congregation on Dew Radio during the Sunday Evening Meditation. His purpose was to strengthen the Body of Christ.  He shared, “Allow me to focus on the Body of Christ because the Church is you and me.”

It has come to my attention that the Body of Christ has been experiencing attacks, tension, name-calling, rejection, and many other challenges from our fellow countrymen, parents, and others, simply because of what we believe.

The Church: God Almighty’s Primary Goal:

Believers, the Church is the LORD’S primary goal, and He set it apart to shape His flock. If this is His primary goal, then it should be the primary responsibility of every mature Christian as well.

When you find a man or woman concerned about the Body of Christ, know that they are mature Christians. Even Christ Jesus, while on earth, was deeply concerned about the Church.

When He saw the Church not in proper standing, He took a whip because it was His Father’s house (Saint John chapter 2 verse 13–17). Today, He is still watching to see how concerned we are about His Church. The truth is this: if you and I are not okay, the Church cannot be okay.

Revelation from Saint Matthew chapter 16 verse 18–19:

Let us examine Matthew 16:18–19: And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.

According to this scripture, the greatest Prophet, Christ Jesus, is revealing to you that you are Peter. Confess in faith: I am Peter. He is proclaiming that He will build His Church on Peter.

He is making a prayer for us and we are supposed to receive and understand it then, the Power of death -satan will not be able to over take the Church. When a Prophet of God proclaims, you do not need to pray about it; you receive it in Christ Jesus’ name. We do not pray over what has been proclaimed over us; we receive it automatically.

Understanding the Power of God’s Word:

In Genesis chapter 1 verse 3–5, when God Almighty said, “Let there be light,” no one prayed about it, yet it happened. This means that just like the Word of the Father, the Word of the Son is the same.

In Saint Matthew chapter 16 verse 18–19, Christ Jesus is not suggesting or begging Peter to be a rock; He is proclaiming and perfecting what He has spoken. Therefore, the Church cannot be conquered by the power of death because of this prophecy.

As you read this message, take note that you are the Church of Christ, and you have an inheritance in this prophecy. If the Church is conquered or in bad shape, then the whole world is broken.

Why Christ focuses on the Church:

Christ focuses on the Church because it is His primary goal to set the world right. Good leaders come from the Church. Christ Jesus gave the Church the greatest Prophetic power, and He is seated in Heaven watching over it daily.

The Church is meant to overcome because the One watching over it is greater than any force in the world. When Hannah received a Prophetic word from the Servant of God, Eli, she acted on it and saw it come to perfection (1 Samuel 1:9–18).

Challenges facing the Church today:

When I look at my visions and the community, I see the Church being rejected, it is poor, isolated, and treated as though it were powerless. One may wonder why this is happening. It is because we have not come to the revelation of our rights.

We are not just Christians, we are Ambassadors of Christ Jesus. You cannot attack an Ambassador of Christ Jesus without touching the Kingdom they represent. The Kingdom of God is known both in Heaven and on earth for its power and dominion. We are still green concerning our rights in Christ Jesus, and this must change (Matthew 16:18–19; 1 Kings 18; 2 Kings 4:38–44; Acts 28:1–6).

The Church: Small in appearance, mighty in Spirit:

Though the Church may seem small, it is mighty in the spiritual realm. It takes a visionary man in Christ to intercede and be responsible for the Church. The world will know we are one when we care for and take responsibility for one another.

I cannot feel what you feel unless we are one in the same Spirit. My joy should be your joy; my pain should be your pain. The Spirit of God does not want us disunited. When we are divided, we weaken; when we are united, we are strengthened.

Unity of the Body: Scriptural insight:

Acts of Apostles chapter  2 verse 1–4 shows that the Holy Spirit came with Power when the disciples were in one accord and vision. In the same way, 1 Corinthians 12:12–31 explains that we are many parts but one body. Every part is important. If one part suffers, all suffer. If one is honoured, all rejoice.

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized by  one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

We are not complete without each other the LORD created us to be interdependent.  No man is an island; I am, because you are and you are, because I am. The book of 2 Thessalonians chapter 3, Apostle Paul says that pray for us that every time so that when we rise up we have a Word from God. This is a clear indication that we need each other.

Advice to Today’s Church:

Remember: people are not our strength, Christ Jesus is. The Messiah had only twelve disciples, meaning numbers do not measure strength.

Do not despise ministers who have only a few members. You may be surprised that the few are doing what is right before God more than thousands. Ministry is not about numbers or wealth but the presence and comfort of the Holy Spirit in the congregation.

Heaven does not measure greatness the way men do; it looks at the presence of the Holy Spirit in one’s life. We must also remember to bless fellow ministers with what Christ has blessed us with. In the early Church, no one lacked (Acts 4:32–37).

Conclusion:

As we conclude today’s Sunday Evening Meditation, remember: the Church is not weak. It is a strong pillar in every community. Without it, the community goes astray. Let us unite and pray for the Church.

Prayer: Father, we pray in Your Name that the Word of Christ Jesus comes to us and helps us know our positions in You. Remind us that we are Your primary goal in this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen. We cover the Church in the blood of Jesus Christ.
