As the excited congregation awaited in faith for God’s Sent Servant Seer Abraham Richard; it was a moment of pure joy when he took his position at the pulpit. His first remarks were, “Let us begin our day by calming our spirits down, for there is nothing we can do if we do not have peace in our hearts.”
You too, as you read this message, may you confess: Peace in my heart is all I need. Welcome to the bread of life of the day in the Name of Christ Jesus. With the message titled, Love is our DNA, he taught:
“Let us take our meditation from the book of Hebrews chapter 6 verse 1 to 2 for understanding: Therefore, let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
When you examine this scripture; the Apostle is explaining to us that there are basic Christian steps to start with when we enter Christianity. These include turning away from sin, doing what is right, loving your neighbour, baptism, laying on of hands and putting faith in God.
However, a lot of Christians do not do that; they have slipped off. When you go further in this scripture, Apostle Paul is cautioning us to remain in faith because it is impossible to bring back one who has slipped but tasted the Spirit. Meaning those who are still in the Grace (faith), should focus on the ones doing what is right.
Today, we shall focus on the statement maturity, that is verse 1: Therefore, let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity…
When we talk about maturity, we are talking about loving our neighbours and persisting. The more we persist, and love our neighbours, we shall get closer to God. What do I mean by being closer to God? It is being sensitive to God’s voice and quick to repent.
Being close to God is something many Christians do not consider, yet it is vital in our Christian walk. Anyone can be a Christian for many years, know the Bible to its fullest, confess Jesus but yet not be close to God. Today, many Christians cannot sense the presence of God because they are not close to the Holy Spirit.
For God to be in a place, it is not about the number of people but the openness of one’s heart. We have failed to grow to the expected level of love because we failed to follow the first instruction in Hebrews chapter 6 from 1 to 2.
People have made Christianity a fashion today; we no longer consider the gospel of Eternal life and that is why it is not entirely preached. You can be a Christian, yet you insult fellow Christians. The question is: Where is the problem? Can a Christian attack their brother or sister in the LORD?
Child of God, never forget that whoever grows in love gets closer to God. No one enters the kingdom of God without works and fruits of love. The letter of 1John chapter 4 says God is love; meaning love is in Heaven therefore a Christian is known by their love. We need to mature in the message of love, endurance, and patience to receive true salvation.
If you get this message right, you will forever live right and He (Jesus) will heal and supply to you everything you need. Believer, take my message seriously because it is the gospel of maturity (love) that will bring you closer to Jesus. I will repeat this again; God is love and all those who come close to Him are good and have love in them.
Let us make it personal; Today, you pin a lot of people on your failure; however, before you do that; you should scrutinise your life; do you see God in your life? Some of us begun well and eventually fell off the narrow path (Matthew chapter 7 verse 13 to 14)
When we examine the five gifts of the Holy Spirit: Prophecy, Love, Grace, God’s Will and faith in God, you will come to realise we have never grown in them. We need to go back to that first class and put ourselves right. If we are to preach the gospel of Eternal life, we need to be firm and focused; wrong is wrong and good is good.
When we choose to love God, we have chosen to be outstanding from the many, then our DNA is love. The more we keep standing in love, the LORD will strengthen us every moment; heal, bless and bring us closer. If we grow in love, we shall not fall off without being notified (Numbers 22:21-35).
Summing up this spirit awakening message, the Prophet reminds and advises you that: You cannot love men before loving God. The more you draw close to God, He teaches you how to love people. Besides this, as a caution, when you carry out works of charity and Grace, do not wait for people to thank you. The more you wait for a thank you’s and praises, it is a temptation you may acquire a spirit of praises.
Believer, keep these words in your heart because they are the foundation of life. Love will never perish and it is not boastful. Love is life. May Christ give you the Grace as you put what you have learnt in practise.
Shalom
