Good Morning Today believers in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus, welcome to the Sunday Evening Meditation. This a moment of self reflection and examination, today we shall examine and meditate on the role of Spiritual father (leaders) in our lives.
It is something I find key to share about today and everyone needs to pay attention to as it was revealed to me by the help of the Holy Spirit. Who is a Spiritual Father or leader?
Today, by the help of the Holy Spirit, we shall meditate on a crucial topic: the role of Spiritual Fathers (Leaders) in our lives.This is a message every believer must pay close attention to, for it holds the key to spiritual maturity, protection, and blessing.
Who is a Spiritual Father?
That is the person you give accountability to. In this I mean: what you do in the four corners of your life-the Spiritual, financial, health and family life. He fights for you, natures, corrects, guides, and protects you. Your Spiritual father is the one who led you to Christ Jesus and he laboured to give birth to you spiritually.
A Spiritual father is like a father in a home. He will do anything for His spiritual children.You will come to realise that there are battles you are fighting yet they are meant to be fought by your Spiritual leaders. On several occasions we fight our own battles because we feel we are independent enough to fight our battles which is not right.
The role of a Spiritual Father:
Some of you are labouring to be established yet it is the role of your Spiritual leader. You can not nature, guide, protect or mature yourself, you need a foundation to build on. Believers you need to partake of what belongs to your spiritual leader because the true inheritance you are looking for must come from him.
Take to note, there is no Heaven for a man who has not gone through his spiritual father, you are children of your spiritual father. Spiritual leaders are set by God to mature their children. You will come to realise that many of us are stuck because of lack of this revelation.
One of the many reasons why our foundations are not firm is because we have failed to acknowledge our Spiritual Leaders. Many believers today struggle because they have taken on battles that were meant to be fought by their Spiritual Leaders.
The Scriptural foundation:
Let us examine the Word of God in the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 15: Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
According to this scripture, the Apostle is telling the church that even if you have a thousand spiritual teachers, you have only one Spiritual father. The reason the Apostle is emphasizing this point is because we are going wrong today. Now here is the important question: Do you have a Spiritual father?
Honouring your Spiritual Father:
In African setting, a child never grows in the sight of His parents when they are alive, similarly, you can be older or wiser than your Spiritual father. Your Spiritual father has made so many sacrifices so if you need to see a true blessing honour him.
You will come to realise that as a Church, our biggest problem is equating ourselves to our Spiritual fathers. This is wrong, you can never be equal to them because you are just a child. All you need to do is to be under him and whenever you find hardship run to him because he is your everything in Christ Jesus.
The Blessing of Spiritual lineage:
The issue of Spiritual fathers has always been there from the beginning of the Bible. We have seen fathers blessing their children to carry on their blessings. You too as a child, you need to acknowledge your Spiritual leader in order to win his favor and to receive his blessings.
Believers, you are not independent until your Spiritual father says. Even if he leaves this world, he remains your Spiritual father. Let us take a question of self reflection in Jesus’ name and understanding. Question: Who do you run to when things go wrong?
Why Spiritual covering matters:
Let us learn to treasure our Spiritual fathers because their are many people without Spiritual fathers and are in need of them. You will come to realise that our foundations are shaking because we lack Spiritual leaders.
This has led evil to creep in our lives and attack us since we have no true roots in Christ Jesus. This is clear evidence that we will not survive like the seven sons of Sceva.
You should be so proud of your Spiritual leaders because you can hide in their shadows. The Church today is neglecting and talking evil about spiritual leaders yet when you examine scriptures, spiritual leaders are valid. Christ Jesus told his disciples that they were going to be persecuted but they should take heart because he had over come for them. Why, He was their Spiritual father
God sees you through your Spiritual Leader:
Allow me share this too, whenever the LORD looks at us, He sees our Spiritual leaders and remembers the promises He made with them. It is from there that He blesses us according to those promises. This means God will not give you what He has not promised your Spiritual father.
In the book of Genesis chapter 22 from verse 17 to 18 the LORD said to our fore father Abraham that He would bless his off springs. Meaning whatever blessing the descendants of Abraham are receiving is as a result of the blessing the LORD promised Abraham.
Respect and please your Spiritual Father:
This brings me to my next point, our spiritual fathers made covenants we do not know about with God. Choose to respect them and win their hearts, then you will see everything going on well.
In Genesis chapter 27, our fore father Isaac wanted to bless, so he told his children to find him something to eat. The one who came first was blessed and it could be retrieved. What does this teach us? Whenever your Spiritual father speaks rush, go please him. Do not allow him to shade a tear because you will be in trouble and never see a blessing.
The importance of Spiritual endorsement:
According to 1 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 17, Apostle Paul sent Timothy because he was his spiritually beloved son whom he gladly recommended and established thus giving him tasks. You need a Spiritual father to endorse you at the right time. However, today the story is different, we no longer consider those very vital matters.
We wake up out of disobedience and disagreement with our Spiritual leaders and begin Ministry. That Ministry will not stand because it does not have proper roots. God is not disorganised, that is why he set lineages. He told Abraham you will be a father of many nations, those who honor Me will come through you through there different lineages.
You cannot choose a Spiritual Father:
I know as you are reading this message, you may think, you can go out and get a Spiritual father. It does not work like that, you cannot choose a Spiritual father from the blue. It is God’s ordained plan for the Spiritual father you have. Look at the meeting of Elisha and Elijah! Christ Jesus and Peter!
Apostle Paul advises us that we should never forget to share our joy and successes with your Spiritual leaders because they are a source of your blessing. Wherever you go, remember them.
Conclusion and call to reflection:
As I conclude this message, be strengthened and empowered and above all search for your spiritual roots. Then honour, please and repent otherwise you are going no where. I believe you have been blessed with this message.

Do not take your Spiritual leaders lightly. Take them serious because they are God’s chosen vessels in our lives. To walk without a spiritual father is to risk but to honour a Spiritual father is to walk in a done blessing.
