Heaven was silently watching as a group of young men in Tororo–Merikit tirelessly worked to develop their football talents. Their passion and determination caught the attention of their Love ambassador, Prophet Abraham Richard. With a heart that beats for nurturing potential, the Prophet set a plan in motion that would not only showcase their skills but also reveal the beauty of God’s timing.
Within a few months, the dream took shape. The youthful and energetic players were invited for a friendly match in Buikwe District against none other than God’s People FC. In a Divine twist, the team from Tororo carried the very same name God’s People FC!
Such mysteries remind us that God orchestrates events beyond human understanding, aligning everything for His glory. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10).
At the appointed time, the long-awaited match kicked off. The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheer, unity, and excitement. Both teams played with skill and passion, but in the end, God’s People FC from Tororo emerged victorious. The win, however, was more than just about football; it was about hope, exposure, and the fulfillment of dreams planted by God.
To crown the day, Prophet Abraham Richard, together with TVC partners, showered the Tororo team with Love gifts. These were symbols of renewed strength and encouragement, reminding the young men that God cares even for their passions and dreams.
As they returned home, they carried more than trophies and gifts, they carried faith, hope, and the assurance that God’s plans for them are filled with glory. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).
Reflection: God Delights in Every Gift
This story reminds us that no talent is too small or insignificant for God to use. Whether it is preaching, singing, or even playing football, all gifts can be instruments of His glory when surrendered to Him. Just as these young men in Tororo discovered, God cares about the desires of our hearts and uses them to open doors of hope and encouragement.
Let us remember: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters.” When we dedicate our skills and passions to Christ, He transforms them into testimonies that inspire others and reveal His unfailing love.
