WHO DO WE WORSHIP?
This is a personal question- Who do you worship?
Some people worship their ministries. Others worship large congregations or the important delegates who have come to their meetings. Those things become the focus of their worship. However, the Psalmist says in Psalm Chapter 115, “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your Name we give Glory.” Why? Because all the Glory belongs to Him alone.
The book of Revelation tells us that He is the first to rise from the dead. No one had ever done that from the beginning of the world, and no one else could accomplish what He did. That is why we worship HIM.
Unless you understand that your sins have been erased, you will never truly worship Him. The moment you realize the weight of your sins, what you deserved, and that you have been set free and are no longer suffering the consequences because of Him, then you will worship Him.
The Bible says that He has freed us from our sins by shedding His blood. He has made us to be His kingdom and priests who serve before God His Father. That alone is another reason to worship Him. He has made us who we are so that we may serve before His Father, and for that we ought to give Him thanks and praise.
When you read the whole passage in Revelation, you will understand it even more. I especially love verse 13, where He says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” That is another reason to worship Him. (scripture ref: Revelation 22)
These are the things that should be the only driving force behind your worship and praise—not your mother or father, not your money, not your physical appearance, and not even how you are feeling. If you base your praise and worship on those things, then we are missing the whole point.
Our Savior is seated on the throne, asking, “Why is your attention not on Me?” He is the reason you are alive, and He is the reason you are serving God the Father.
The question is: Who do we worship?
In the praise and worship ministry, we should worship only the One who has revealed Himself to us as omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent—the Alpha and the Omega, the One who was, who is, and who is to come, the first to rise from the dead.
That is the One we worship JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD.
