Have you ever wondered what prompted Ruth to cling so faithfully to her mother-in-law, Naomi? Surely, it was the Divine Will of God at work in their story. Just as it was then, so it remains today.
Somewhere in your life, there is a “Ruth” meant to walk with you, and there is also a “Naomi” appointed to guide you into your breakthrough. This truth is reflected in the life of Brother Juma Sharif.
For many years, this talented young man in football from Buikwe District sought a breakthrough but could not attain it. Despite his passion and dedication, doors remained closed. However, at God’s appointed time, Light began to shine upon his path.
In the year 2020, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Servant of God, Abraham Richard organised a football gala in Buikwe District. It was during this event that brother Sharif crossed paths with the Servant of God. This Divine encounter became a turning point in his life.
As he interacted with the Servant of God on different occasions, he understood more that his life and the players who were under his care were going to be transformed. Brother Sharif was inspired to change the name of the village team he managed from Bridge Football Club to God’s People Academy. This was not just a change of name; it marked the beginning of a new season. Not only did his story change, but so did the lives of the young players under his care.
Through prayer, guidance, and obedience to the Holy Spirit under the mentorship of Prophet Abraham Richard, the team began to grow. A club that had never won tournaments before started experiencing victory after victory. This was only the beginning of what the LORD had prepared for them.
Brother Sharif testifies that as the Prophet spent more time with the young players, their lives began to transform. Today, many of the teenagers in God’s People Academy are on sponsorship programs because of their talents. Some have even received opportunities to travel to other nations, through the support of Seer Abraham Richard and TVC Ministries.
The blessings did not stop with the players. Mr. Sharif himself experienced God Almighty’s goodness in a remarkable way. Last year, the Servant of God encouraged him to pursue professional training in football. He took this step in faith, believing God for success, and indeed, the LORD proved faithful.
By the Grace of God, through the support of the Servant of God and the partners of TVC Ministries, brother Sharif was sponsored to pursue a diploma course in football. Today, he holds a CAF D Certificate, which qualifies him to coach from primary school to sub-county level.
From brother Sharif to Coach Sharif, what an honour in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Coach Sharif joyfully shares: “The Prophet of God has not only changed God’s People FC, but he has also touched my family. We were once going through serious misunderstandings. When I came before the Servant of God, he prayed for me, and God revealed the root of the problem. Since then, peace has been restored.”
Standing beside Coach Sharif were some members of God’s People Academy who confirmed his testimony.
Brother Elisha shared: “I thank the LORD for Coach Sharif. When we were young, we used to go and play football and were chased away. However, he gathered us and formed a team. Through God’s People Academy, I met the Servant of God, who has changed my life. He supports my education and football journey. Thank you, Christ Jesus.”
Brother Bob testified: “I thank the LORD for the diploma our coach has attained. He is a father figure to many of us. Together with the Servant of God, he takes care of us. When we lack equipment like boots, we make a request and they are provided. Above all, we thank Christ Jesus.”
Truly, what a mighty God we serve! He places us in the right place at the right time, connects us with the right people, and transforms our destinies according to His perfect Will.
