Scripture Reference: Job 33, Psalm 32:3–4
I want to encourage you that whatever you are going through is there to teach you humility. Let us look in the Word of God. There is something I want to share with you from the book of Job 33, and I believe it will do you good.
Job 33: “But now, Job, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. I am about to speak; let me speak freely. For I speak with all sincerity; I speak the truth. For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” “You have spoken in my hearing, and I have heard your very words. You said, ‘I am pure; I am without sin; I am innocent; I have no guilt. God is picking a quarrel with me, and He considers me His enemy. He puts my feet in the stocks and watches my every move.’ But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being. So why are you bringing a charge against Him? Why say He does not respond to people’s complaints?”
This scripture fits your situation, where you have found yourself amidst a challenge and you have said, “For me, I am innocent.” You say that God is the One keeping you in this situation because you have done good things for people, yet He is not answering you.
Today you are sick, troubled, and blaming God, saying that He is the One who is wrong, while you are pure and innocent. You feel that God is wrong for allowing you to be created this way.
This is the scripture I am explaining to you. See verses 13–14. The Bible tells us that God Almighty speaks and answers people’s prayers. It is you and I who do not understand it. He speaks in dreams, visions, and when deep sleep falls upon people.
Take note of verses 16 and 17: He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. He makes them turn from doing wrong; He keeps them from pride.
The Word of God is saying that God disciplines people through all these things. Why? To cause us to humble ourselves before His will. Job, in this scripture, kept insisting that he was not in sin based on the physical things he did.
He said, “I do not deserve what I am going through,” and this is how most of us are today. I have seen Christians leave church simply because they say, “I do not deserve this.” My brother, my sister who is reading this message, this is the wrong foundation on which to base your life.
It is only God Almighty who does not deserve to be sick or touched by Satan. The rest of us are subject to the touch of this world. Satan can afflict anyone with sickness, limitation, or setback, so you are not above the touch of the evil one.
Job kept insisting that he was right, but the wise man told him, “Job, you are wrong. It is only God who is above the touch of Satan.” Job had to be humbled so that he could say sorry to God Almighty.
The more we refuse to repent when faced with challenges, the longer our situations continue.
The psalmist says it clearly in Psalm 32:3–4: When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night Your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
The more Job refused to say sorry, the worse the situation became. He kept claiming that he was right and that God Almighty was waging war against him. All the LORD wanted was to humble Job, but Job kept equating himself with God Almighty.
Dear reader, whatever situation you are going through, unless you calm down and say sorry, that situation is not going to end; it may even worsen. I, Abraham Richard, do not have the power to heal you if you have not repented before the LORD.
You need to repent. Whether you are right or wrong, you need to say, “Sorry, LORD.” True humility before God says, “I am sorry, LORD,” whether you are directly involved in the situation or not. Even when we hear that something has happened to someone else, we say, “I am sorry, LORD.”
Listen to what Christ said on the cross: “Forgive them, LORD.” That included both the offender and the offended. Jesus knew that all had fallen short, so He prayed for forgiveness. In this generation, you are the Job in this situation, and you must humble yourself.
The sickness, failures, and demonic oppression you are experiencing are there to discipline you and teach you that there is only one God who can help you. The situation you are going through is meant to humble you.
If it were not for the challenge you are facing, you would not be reading this message today. Your situation is drawing you closer to God Almighty so that you can say, “You are the only One who can help me.” Your situation is humbling you.
Look at Hebrews 5:8: Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered.
Christ Jesus learned humility through the situations that came against Him. What about you and me? Should you become more arrogant because you are a servant of God, grumbling because of the situation you are going through? If you act like that, God Almighty will never heal you.
The more Job refused to repent, the worse the situation became. In the same way, the more you refuse to repent, the worse the situation may become until death. However, the LORD has preserved you for a reason: so that you can read this message.
Whenever the LORD sees that you no longer exalt Him, He will allow a situation to humble you. I can testify that I did not fall from Heaven. I have gone through processes to become who I am today.
You cannot deny God Almighty’s discipline. When you meditate on this message, you will understand that this is the message you needed to hear. The situation you are in is there to humble you.
When you lower yourself and allow God Almighty to be exalted, you can receive healing today. You cannot come with arrogance and pride and expect to be healed by the Spirit of God. That is pride speaking through you.
Child of God, you are reading this message so that you may be humbled. There is a deeper revelation that the LORD wants you to receive today. The whole world needs this message because everyone is facing challenges.
To servants of the LORD: If you are going through a difficult situation and begin to grumble, I can assure you that it will worsen. God Almighty can use me to feed the community while I sleep hungry at home. It is possible.
We must be humbled so that God Almighty can be exalted. The LORD has kept you this long so that you can receive this revelation. Pride is not welcome here; it will only prolong the situation you are going through.
Let Christ Jesus be exalted in your life. However, when you confess, “I do not deserve this setback, sickness, disease, or limitation,” my question to you is: who deserves it? No one deserves it. That is pride speaking through you.
I want to thank Christ Jesus who has preserved you until today. Through this message, you now understand why you have been preserved. When Job understood this revelation in chapter 40, the LORD came and spoke the very words that his wise friends had spoken.
He is God Almighty alone. He is above you, and you cannot compare yourself to Him. No man in flesh and blood is as righteous as the LORD. When Job heard those words, he went on his knees and said sorry.
At that very moment, the LORD healed him and told him, “I have sent your friends to come to you so that you may bless them.” Imagine, a man was suffering, yet he still carried a blessing within him. When his friends came, he prayed for them and blessed them, and they prospered, and so did Job.
The reason you are reading this message is so that you may be revived and restored again to ministry. Right now, begin saying, “I am sorry, LORD.”
